The Big Play activation used cutting-edge software and technology to challenge users to take their best shot against a virtual goalie. To build the most realistic and intelligent goalie possible, we used motion capture for precise body movements, and Kinect 2 to accurately react to the users shots. Players were positioned in front of a 92” HD display housed within a 120 sq. ft. simulation hockey rink. As the shooter took their best shot using a hockey stick and tethered puck, their exact movements were tracked, triggering the goalie to make a save in real-time as the puck left the stick.
